Kennedy V. Jackson is a 2024 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Drama. She was born in Long Island, New York. Raised in rural South Carolina. She was fortunate to be immersed in a culture rich in history, love for community, and delicious Southern soul food. However, despite the prominence of sports culture in South Carolina, she always had a deep love for the arts.
Thankfully, living close to the entertainment-rich area of Augusta, Georgia, Kennedy was able to experience her first role at the age of nine in the Augusta Players production of Hairspray. From that moment on, she began pursuing her dreams of singing & acting. Her talent has led her to amazing artistic intensive programs such as the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts & Humanities, YoungArts Organization, and North Carolina School of the Arts. Kennedy was a part of the 2024 Black Theatre United Gala. She and her peers, as the Class of 2024 graduates, performed with Matthew Whittaker a rendition of "A New World." She and her peers were welcomed and introduced to theater industry members.
Now, Kennedy has joined the 2nd National Tour of Mrs. Doubtfire the Musical, in the role of Wanda Sellner. She is under the direction of Tony Award-winning director Jerry Zaks and Steve Edlund. This is her debut in the National Broadway Tour, and she will tour across North America.
